Re: Good Morning Thread
Good evening beautiful day but boys she was chilly this morning. There was frost on the grass so tonight will be the same. They(whoever they are ) say the northern lights should be very visible tonight but unless they are out before 9 I wont be able to verify that. Spent most of the day chasing burn through and grinding. Cookie all those shows were terrific miss them and I have to say I really like Dave Allen he was great.
Have a great evening

What an absolutely beautiful day here today, blue skies and 13*. It just doesn't get much better than this for an October day.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good evening like Cookie said another stellar day on the left coast. Got the trunk extension finished up today man oh man that was a tough slog for a rookie I gotta say. This week or weeknd will see the fenders get welded in and then off to the other side. The other side was “repaired” by the previous owner so hope he did a really good job but he sold the car to me because he did not have the expertise to finish the car(like I do ?). Started peeling out the !@@#$$$$% under coat tht was put all over the inside of the car about a 1/2 inch thick but nothing under the car ??? Man that shit is on there but when I get it off theres virgin metal so ok I`ll deal with the rust protection stuff. It has to be scraped because if I try anything on the grinder it just clogs up so scraping it is.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Cold day here today, only 2* for a high. We did get a bit snow 3 days ago but has since melted away.
I have my 'new' rear bumper on the car and it fits really good and is in way better shape than my original rear bumper. I just have to decide if I want to keep the bumper over riders on or fill the holes and run with out them.
Good day all!

We had the most in years - 137!
Re: Good Morning Thread
It was a great Halloween. We had a little over 80 kids, close to the same as last year. Weather was a clear and a slightly crisp 5* for all the kiddies.
Some of the little girls aged 4-5 are so cute, they stand there on the landing and start talking away trying to have a grown up conversation.

Good morning lol well a little late but thats ok. Steady rain all day now the wind is kicking up as well so it will be a rainy windy night. I think I will leave the bedroom window open so I can listen and sleep like a baby tonight. We had no kids for halloween I guess they could not see the sidewalk in the dark lol. If someone dared try the doorbell they would have got the s—— scared out of them so its all good I now have a years supply of candy. My poor yorkie is so scared of the fireworks she just freaks out and hides. Took the both of us 45 minutes to find the poor little girl

Re: Good Morning Thread
Keith, Di`s 65 only has guards on the front bumper and I am leaving them off. I am just going to put an extra bumper bolt on instead of welding. I am getting both re chromed for 1500 bucks a bit pricey but for that year theres no options.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Those are neat kits Lyle. I'm going to see if there are U tube videos on those DIY kits.
If the bumpers are in good shape it might be worth going that route.
Nice day here a high of 13, putting the starter in and going to get a battery and hopefully by days end I get all that done.
Good day all!!!

Re: Good Morning Thread
I can't stand bumper guards so Cookie says leave them off.
A member (Bigtime auto) on Moparts had this done to a customers bumpers and they ended up yellowing really bad from the sun exposure.

Re: Good Morning Thread
TGIF, might go for a nice cold beverage tonight. Real nice day here around 14 for a high and I think we set a record for no snow going into November. Spend the day at the auto wreckers helping my grandson pull a head, intake and turbo charger from a PT Cruiser, one hell of a job. This took us close to 4 hours to do, doing a Timing belt on these cars must cost a mint!
Have a great weekend all!!!

Good morning 4 cold wet and maybe some wind today. Snow in the hills and maybe lower down we shall see I guess. The only time change I like is tonight now it will take a week ot 2 for Sophiw the wonder Yorkie to get her clock changed. Finished the floor and trunk extension yesterday so onto welding in the patch panels now.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Looks good, almost as if you knew what you were doing...joke joke!
Yesterday morning was like -3 or so and today -1...a sign of things to come. My son and I put on the snow tires on two cars today, my sisters and his, my wife's and mine later. My back does not like this type of work anymore, should be the last winter.
Should be a pretty good week weatherwise with no precipitation forecast so far and could go ad high as 12-13 with sun.
I seen that I had a message from Philcollins about my gauge cluster...tried to get a hold of him a few times but his mailbox was full.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Nice toy Phil.
Getting a rehomer dog on Wed evening. He is a 2-1/2 year red lab and unfortunately he will require some work as he is about 20lbs over weight and he has what the owners thought was pulled muscle in his right leg but after we saw him I can tell he has a ruptured cruciate ligament so we will have to get him in for surgery. Owners said his injury happened about a year ago so the poor guy has been suffering all this time. The owners said they do not have any money for him because of their situation due to covid and they have been trying to rehome him with no luck and they said their next option was to put him down. The wife and I can't accept that course of action so we will be bring him to be a part of our family along with our other dog Bailey. This will be the fouth time going through this type of surgery with our dogs we have had so no issue their.
We have been have a shit ton of rain lately and today was hail in the mix.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning 6 and coolish. Going to be onother slobernocker this afternoon into tomorrow 70-90 k winds so ferries will be down and probably hydro. Phil you may be one of the few I know anxious for snow lol. I know you love your snowmobiling so heres hoping you get lots! Good on ya cookie thats not an easy decission for you but one helluva good thing for the dog for sure. Well there was a high five in the garage yesterday. I got all the inner fenders done and painted got the outer primer and yesterday was the big day. Weld that thing on and deal with any issues as they arrive. I was teffified of having more burn through like I did on the inner fender. This weld is in full view and any mis steps will be like a neon light to a car person. I had 2 very small burn throughs and that may have been operator error more than anything but its done and I couldn`t be happier.
