Re: Good Morning Thread
Good TGIF morning, I bet philcollins does not have power yet as we have not heard from him lately, I just seen pictures on the paper which are not promising. He lives on the north shore past Caraquet and most of the power poles got broken by the weight of the ice. Things do not look good over there. It was the kind of storm that was touch and go, hit some places lightly and others full blast. It is -2 this morning and windy, was +2 around 11PM and a great big high of 0 is forecast.
Still over 50,000 without power across NB
Have a great day everyone.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning to everyone, -5 this morning, we had almost 1 cm of snow last night.
They even declared a state of emergency up north due to the ice storm, they are getting help from power crews from NB, NS, PEI, Quebec and Maine. Two deaths and two hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning (generators, propane heaters and others). Its a fairly calm day otherwise, google ''NB ice storm'' for pics.
Have a great day all.

I live in the south eastern part of NB, some places around were hit hard because of our greater population but the north east part had more consistent damage. I live outside the city and this area was not hit hard but 5 miles east or 6-7 miles north-west and its a different ball game. It was a spotty storm and did not hit everybody the same.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Hi, out of power since wednesday morning. May take up to 3 weeks to get the power back.
Shortage of fuel, foods, etc.
But it could be worse. Found a small 3500w generator today. will have some heat.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning everybody, -3 this morning and going to +2 supposedly, the sun is trying to make his way through the clouds it seems.
There is going to be a wedding in the family in 2018, my daughter and her boyfriend(fiancé). They got engaged January 11th. So far the plans are for April-May so it will not interfere with the Nationals.
Have a great day everyone.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning, 0 and frosty with rain later on today. JG congrats and I must say how considerate to avoid The Nationals! Got the old exhaust out and as it got dark I tried the drivers side header and it almost fit in but it was too late to mess with it. I will jack the motor up today And move it slightly to the pass side and hopefully thats it. Spent more time looking for planks and blocks than anything. Damn car is three feet in the air now, I hate being under it that high but I have good bracing in place and lots of redundant jack stands but even at that..........
Have a great day

Avoiding the Nationals was not their first priority, they had other plans it just happened that way but it is a good thing.

Re: Good Morning Thread
When I started attending the Nats it was Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Now I don't always attend the Friday show on Main street as you have to get up too early. Saturday and Sunday is usually enough for me, but 2018 Reg is coming down unless plans change so I will be getting up early for the Friday show on Main street also.smoken340 wrote:JG, Do you put your both in the Saturday and Sunday shows ?
Now there is a show Wednesday evening, a cruise and breakfast Thursday, Main street show Friday, Centennial park Saturday and Sunday, with a whole bunch of prizes and places to spend the money you have and maybe even the money you don't have.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Things have changed again, and I never cancelled my hotel, so its back on. But I'm only staying there from Thursday and leaving Sunday am. Fingers crossed, nothing else changes.
If nothing else, we will at least get to meet each other. I'll get your cell number just before I leave, that way if I find your car and your wondering around, I can let you know.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning 0 and theres talk of snow flurries this week. Got the driver side headers on this weekend but the G D motor slid sideways to the passenger side and for the love of tuna I cannot get it back over where it should be. I could have been done if not for that, my bottle jack doesn`t work on its side so plan b now.

Re: Good Morning Thread
That means your bottle jack is not full enough of hydraulic fluid . Your best bet is to buy 1/2 litre or so and fill it up, I had the same problem with mine after it had stayed idle for too long.

Good morning all, -8 this morning, clouds are supposedly on their way out leaving a sunny day. Glad I could help Reg. That is what happens when bottle jacks stand for too long, the fluid evaporate or leaks very slowly.
Have a great day everybody!

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning all, cool but manageable. Reg, installing headers can be a real pain in the butt and it causes a few other minor jobs, like insulating the ends of your plug wires and such. However in the end they make the car sound just a little meaner.
