JG. I, couldn't disagree with you more. Fuel Stabilizer, is used so that your fuel doesn't turn to a gel. If you've ever smelled old gas then you'll know what I'm talking about. All gas, no matter what grade or where  it's sold, given enough time will GEL.. You want alcohol in your gas, because it helps absorb water and burn it. I got my mechanics license in 1975, and gas and additives were a part of the coarse. And gasoline has only gotten worse since then. Most V8s unless modified will run quite well on 89 octane, as a matter of fact some V8s can be damaged using 91 or better gasoline.

Good morning all, we reached a high of 19 yesterday, and will reach a high of 10 today. Temperatures are all over the place the last 2 weeks.
Going to the classic car auction again today. Have a good day all.

Methanol or ethanol is the word I was looking for or one of those. Guess I will use my Stabil some more then.

Good Morning. JG i put seafoam in both my cars, make sure it mixes then run it so it gets in the carb. I also have a heated garage so i run the cars throughout the winter to full operating temp too.

Watched a 69 Daytona go through and not meet the reserve of $175,000. CDN. But a 68 Firebird coupe reached $ 32,000. and the guy wouldn't pull the reserve, so no sale.

Mine is kept in an climate controlled garage as well. But when the cover goes on in the fall, it doesn't come back off until spring. Can't be bothered starting if I can't drive it. I always use stabil and put steel wool in the exhaust as well, as bounce through out the interior.

Good morning all, 6 right now and they say a high of 7 but I figure 8-9. Cloudy and drizzles all day or so that is what is forecasted so I should be inside the house or inside the garage today.
Have a great day all.

Good morning guys, just came back from a few days in Nanaimo, rained every day except the day we arrived but had a good time visiting my Aunt.
Going to work on the old Cuda this week hopefully starting on Wednesday and will try to get ready to plan out the hydraulic clutch set up.

Dan, do you have the car put down for the winter yet or are you still driving it. I have a few more days of corn harvest but plan on getting the car out for another run before I tuck it in for the winter.. Perhaps we could meet somewhere between Stratford and Toronto for lunch some day.

I would love to meet up one day, but if we were going to do it in our classic cars, then it won't be this year. As mine has been put to Sleep already. I did however do a little research and kind of figure something like Guelph, would be halfway, and still keep ,us off the madhouse 401.

Good morning 8 and rain is on its way perhaps for the rest of the week. Sun will be up in an hour and a half so will see what carnage has been done by the goblins last night. Sure was alot of people out last night and tons of fireworks which freak out the Yorkies so will see whats up later.
What are your plans with the motor Dan? Factory specs or a fire breathing power plant capable of embarrassing any and all comers?
Have a great day

Hey Reg, my plans for this engine, are very simple, Bone stock, numbers engine, absolutely no deviation from factory specs.
The engine in the car is already a fire breathing power plant capable of embarrassing any and all comers. This engine will likely stay in the car, because I truly love the power. But I wanted to open up the resale market and have a car that appeals to all buyers. Whether they want an over the top street car that it is now ( 6 miles to a US gallon ) or they are looking for something more numbers matching and street friendly (15 miles to a US gallon ). The 6 miles is actual and the 15 is a estimation.

I have seen some 340s do around 20 or more mpg Canadian. One guy with a 72 Swinger 340, 4 speed, would come up from Halifax NS(about 2 hour drive), drive around here and go back all on the same tank.
