Good morning all. Rain all day today with a high of 9. They had their first snow just 30 kms from here last night. I guess it won't be long and we'll all have it. Now I just depressed myself. lol. Have a good day all.

Good morning. I saved another rescue dog last Friday, went home and picked this little guy up. He is a border collie cross 4 months old. He was abandoned,The indians out here use them for bait dogs for their fighting rings they have here on the Rez.
He gets along great with my great Pyrenees, they are a great match.

Re: Good Morning Thread
good job Sheldon, it breaks my heart hearing about these bait dogs. People who use bait dogs should themselves be thrown in a pen of hogs and left imho.

Nice looking dog Sheldon. And good for you, for getting a rescue dog. I got my dog 11 years ago when she was just a new born pup. Also a rescue dog from a Rez, in northern Ontario. She was a little timid at first, I guess something to do with the way she was treated, but after awhile she was good with it all.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Not everyone is an animal lover. I believe that a dog is good company, most times better than a human. A dog don't care if you are in a bad mood or if you had a bad day they will still be happy to see you. You can get upset at them and they'll come back right away. Because they will Love you unconditionaly.JGL wrote:Nice to finally see Sheldon!!! The dogs are nice too although my wife would not agree.

Re: Good Morning Thread
I myself usually love dogs as I had one when I was young and for quite a few years but on the other hand my wife's family was raised to hate all animals, this came from her parents and probably their parents, besides they did not have room in the house for pets with 7 kids in a very small house.Ragtacker wrote:Bang on Dan from the owner of three Yorkies can`t imagine a day without the little buggers. It's like this, for Dan it's 30 km away but for me it's at some parts of northern NB, usually it's not here to stay before...around the end of November and sometimes later but we seen 1st of Nov. too.

Good day all. started out cool today, with ice on the car windows, but it warmed up to 11, supposed to be 19 tomorrow. We usually don't see snow until Christmas or after. Personally I don't care if I ever see it.

Re: Good Morning Thread
We have had snow covering the lawn for a couple days now. It melted today but the plows and salt trucks were out so I guess that's it for the season unless we get a bunch of rain and warm temps?smoken340 wrote:Good day all. started out cool today, with ice on the car windows, but it warmed up to 11, supposed to be 19 tomorrow. Re: Good Morning Thread
spur of the moment, sun shining, decided to prep the Fish for winter - fill the gas tank, fuel stabilizer, cover the air cleaner, stuff the pipes, put the covers on. That plan lasted as long as it took me to open the storage locker. Flat tire - suspected it might be waiting for me but hoping not.
But my late mother is still looking after me. After she passed 4 years ago, I ended up with a bunch of miscellaneous "stuff" that she had in her car. One item was an electric air pump - which I had tucked away in the Journey, even though I run Nitrogen in its' tires. Got the tire pumped up, headed for Canadian Tire. They were "too busy and short-handed" to help. So I called Kal Tire where I recently bought a pair of tires for the Journey.
Not only did they take me in right away, but they didn't charge me for pulling out a screw nail, plugging it, and putting in a patch!
Didn't get anything else done before dark, but thanks to Mom and Kal Tire my day had a happy ending (except my wife is ticked because I was so late getting home to prep supper.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Wound up getting to nineteen today and I got busted standing facing the sun with my eyes closed enjoying the warmth. Why do wives always seem to show up right when you are enjoying a quiet peaceful moment at least mine has that knack. Kal tire has that policy across the country, never knew until my buddy had a tire issue and got excellent service from them and he asked if free flat fixes was a local thing or national.

Re: Good Morning Thread
If you use high test gasoline(91or more octane) like you should in all V8's, it does not contain any additives like alcohol or at least not down east, so the use of fuel stabilizers are not of any use unless you use midgrade. Just fyi.
