Re: Good Morning Thread
Rained here last night and then turned to snow after midnight. About 2" of wet snow on everything this morning. They're calling for 26C on Tuesday so it won't last long, and it was tinder-dry here so we can't bitch about it too much. I have to grind through my tax stuff this weekend so it's not like the weather affected what I was planning to do. I have the carb kit for the D150 in my possession now after a few failed attempts (1st one boxed wrong, 2nd one sent to the wrong store) so depending on how my taxes go I may take a stab at it tomorrow night. Probably through the week sometime. I imagine my core TQ has leaking bowl wells so I'll have to waste an extra day regluing them. Interested to see how the old girl runs with a decent carb on it and some more fine-tuning. LF caliper is sticking but I'm not buying one until I see if the parts truck I bought for it (yes, I have a disease!) has a new one on it. I know it has new rotors and pads but not sure about the calipers, and I may as well do it all once. I'll need to run down hoses for it before I start swapping anyway.

I slept most of the day awy, then picked up my new wheels and tires for the Rqm 1500. I scored stock Dodge 20" aluminum wheels, and bought new rubber. Truck looks great and rides like a couch. Going to add rumble bee stripes on the box next week.

Good morning all, some errands to run around and do today. Just came back from the airport, had to pick up my daughter, she was returning from Vegas. She brought my interior kit back with her. I'll let her rest for awhile, then check it out.

Re: Good Morning Thread
So sat down early this morning, thought I would do my taxes with the Ufile disc you buy at the store.
Can't get the CD to work in my computer....so I started to try other CD's and none will work...I think my CD/DVD driver in my computer is kaputs....I wish I knew more about this stuff...but it looks like another trip to the repair shop....Thinking of just buying a new computer...this one is 5.5 years old...and running Windows XP still.
Always something...

Re: Good Morning Thread
I've tried to gut mine out too Alan but it looks like I have to do something as well as the last software I installed for work has done something bad to the machine. I have a Panasonic Toughbook that I bought used back when I had plans to take it out to the field for work (I work in the oilpatch). The case is made of aluminum and magnesium, they are dust-proof, water-proof, impact-proof and have a bunch of other features to keep them alive in a rugged environment. You'll see them also used by military, police and EMS. In my new position I have loaded a lot of compressor modelling software onto it and use it instead of the company machine as corporate IS is almost impossible to get onboard with installing 3rd party software. I also have Citrix on it to get on the company network so I use it to work at home at nights and I leave my company-issued Lenovo laptop at work 90% of the time-hard to break it when it stays docked on a desk right? It's to the point though where I have to either bite the bullet and get a new machine or try to upgrade this one to at least Vista to crutch it through. I'd love to have a brand new CF31 (the current model Toughbook) but last time I checked they were over $5K. Even a used one gets close to $1500 with the options to match this one. I'm headed into the city this morning to pick up Turbotax and a couple other things I need for work so I'll kick it around on the way in.
Back to your problem, you can buy an external DVD/CD drive that plugs into a USB port. Last time I checked they're around $50 or so. Might get you out of a bind right now and allow you to plan without a gun to your head?

Good morning everyone. Cold and rainy here today, they got snow to the north last night. Ever since i switched to Apple products, i have had zero computer trouble. I used Turbo tax this year like i do everyyear, i file online and Bob's your uncle. Mind you my tax return is pretty easy, 1 T4 and an RRSP receipt.

Believe me, I've thought about switching lots of times. I don't think I can get a rugged laptop that will run MacOS though, and I have a ton of specialized oilfield programs that run on Windows-not sure how they would work in a Windows emulator on a Mac?

Good Morning all, cloudy, drizzle and flurries last night, at the moment it is +3 here at home. Yesterday was spent changing from snow tires to all season tires on 2 of our cars. Should have been a straight forward job would it not have been for all the cleaning of chrome nuts and rims, ah well I had help from my son at times.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day all, had a good day today. Weather was cool but manageable. I work close to the lake so it's a tad cooler there.
Alan, the cat don't seem all that stupid to me, after all your taking care of it, not the other way around. lol.

Everybody who owns a cat fills their bowl with food but, I've never seen a cat ever prepare a meal for a human being. They eat sleep and shit, but not necessarily in that order. Not one cat ever gets up at 5am to go to work. Just saying, they may not be that stupid.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Beautiful day here-close to 20C. The snow is all gone. I made a run into Calgary yesterday and bought an unopened copy of Windows Vista. Seems to have made this old machine semi-happy again. I'll smash through most of my tax stuff tonight. Once I'm done with that it's time to drag out my 5th wheel and fishing boat. I have holidays booked around the long weekend in May (first paid holidays I have had in close to 20 years!) so I have to do a few things to my dually and the aforementioned other 2 to get ready. It'll be a thrash as per usual. Hopefully work in time in there somewhere to work on the D150. I have to run 45 minutes west and pick up a parts truck I bought for it (yes, it's an obsession!)
