Re: Good Morning Thread
Good afternoon gents. Hot all day again and then the offshore wind started to move a bit and its cool now at 530. I took advantage of the cooler temps today and painted the engine bay. Its my first time painting a car and I am fairly happy with the results. Its got a bit of orange peel and theres a few dirt nibs in it but overall not bad. Now I am deciding do I sand and respray or just be happy with what I got. I will Sand out the dirt but the orange peel i am inclined to just learn and move on as this is not a concours resto more a learning tool any way heres a few pics.

Reg, that looks good. I personally would leave it alone, if anyone is looking close enough to see the dust or orange peel. Just tell them they are looking at the wrong car.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day 27 or so I. Actually lost count as I cut the lawn and fertilized all the plants and did all the crap I should be doing but too involved in the car. Well I did sand it out and respray before I read the advice and wth is with the dust???? I am kidding I did sand and respray but other issues circled my affords and well lets say its better but not how I would like it. I am going to wait until after the engine bangs around and scratches the heck out of the engine bay then fix it all. I sprayed the under side today with self etching primer so good to go whenever I can get to the colour spray under there. We are leaving Wednesday after work for the long weekend and back Monday so not much happening until we get back. Also got the heat pump set outside and the indoor piece set too so just need sparky to hook me up

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning 18 already at 6 am it will another cooker. My daughter just text me(she lives about a K away) asking where all the smoke is coming from and I can smell it but cant find it so theres a fire somewhere close its a grass/bush fire. Heading out today for the weekend, probably the last camping trip of the year I guess. By looking at the long term the temps are going to be dropping next week sometime and by mid month the highs will be 16 ish. Like I say don`t bitch about the heat because 6 months of rain is on its way.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good evening wow hot well over 30 but smokey as hell. I was working on the cargo trailer all day and started hacking up a bit of blood so that was it for me. We almost made it through with no smoke this year almost. This is Washington State and Oregon smoke not even ours. Dont think I will get to the Valiant this weekend just way to much stuff going on.
Take care

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good evening 23 and the smoke has finally moved on thankfully. Car shows winding down the inevitable is coming fairly soon by the looks of the long term forecast, a very short summer is beginning to fade. Hope to get some under carriage paint done in the next week on the Valiant. I have new brake lines and master coming so it absolutely has to get painted under there before. Going to get the new windshield ordered before too long case theres trouble getting one next year.
Hope all is well its very quiet in here.

This morning the fog finally burnt off and it looks like a fine afternoon. Hope everybody is doing well.
Reg I ran a 350 cfm 2 barrel carb (like the middle carb on the 340 six pack) on my slant six for years before the rebuild and that sure woke it up, but you will need a 2 barrel intake or adapter
Have a good day.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning, still fairly warm and humid here. Well I’m going in for cataract surgery this Thursday. And this damn renovation is driving me nuts. A lot of the stuff that we picked out 6 months ago is no longer available. And the worst part of it is the place that I’m staying at does not have internet service. So I can only go on the internet when I stop by my house and sit in the backyard. Have a great day.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Hey guys I'm back. I've been out at the lake for over 4 weeks and we took the boat out of the water last week. We made it home on Friday but there is no internet out there all though I logged in from the coffee shop to follow the thread a few times. We did attend 3 different car shows while on vacation but I didn't have any cars out in them.
Reg the car looks likes it's coming along nicely.
Have a great day!

Good afternoon, we are expecting tropical storm Fiona to visit Nova Scotia, N.B. and Quebec starting Saturday. The southern coast of NS usually gets the worst of the storms but as usual time will tell. Cape Breton, NS is almost always in the target vicinity. This is the hurricane season for us but we do not get it as bad as the southern parts as quite a few storms stay in the ocean.
