Good day guys. Nice day here around 13 and all the snow is all gone.
Reg, there is a couple of really nice resorts in the Mayan Rivera district if you are interested in that area as well. But i will report back to you when we get back from Secrets Huatulco.
Working on the interior of the Barracuda today. Trying to get the kick panel speakers fitted. The ones I bought are for 67 up A body's so I'll have to cut them down a bit.
Have a great day eh!

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day all, been very busy the last couple of weeks. The wife and myself have decided to give up the search for a property for now. It's been a sellers market so everything is way over priced. We have decided to do an extensive renovation on the place we have now. Spending $200k + is really gonna hurt.
JG, I'm sorry to hear that you've decided to let your car go. It must be a hard decision to make. I figure mine is not going anywhere as long as I'm on this side of the grass.
Well my very close friend and mechanic passed away on Monday, from cancer. He was the only one that I trusted to work on my old Duster, He worked for me back in the 80s, when I had 2 service stations, so I'll be attending his funeral on Saturday.
Have a good day and we'll talk later.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day , not a bad day sunny a few short showers but not a bad a day. Keith ya we went to Dreams in Nuevo Viallarta and it was great but want to change it up and the west coast of Mexico is the favoured spot for us as its so quick to get there. Have fun I look forward to hearing about your trip. Dan you have a project and a half going to start up but I know what you are saying about the market. Its the same here before covid we were looking at maybe 850 or so for our place and now they are selling for 1.2 and up in our neighbourhood. The kids in Vaughn are listing thiers next week and they expect to get 1.8-2 M. You know the house and area wowsers I say. Makes no sense for them to stay there my grandaughter has gone to university and 2 of them in a 5 bedroom house is crazy so sell they will. I feel your grief of another friend passing, we just lost one of our car guys to cancer he was a firefighter and sidelined as a car builder he was early 60`s.
Have a great evening

Good day, a beautiful warm day here today.
Reg, if you like the Mayan Riviera you can try Either of the Excellence Hotels or the Valentin Imperial. Follow them on face book and sign up for news letters and Excellence sends out discount codes. These Hotels are adult only and treat you like gold and no wrist bands.
PS. man house prices are crazy where you are.
Dan we are doing the same thing, a major upgrade to the existing home. We tried to look at properties further out of Calgary so I could get a larger garage but the prices are out of this world and some of those properties still needed a lot of work to make them nice. I'm stuck with my garage but have bought the neighbours house a while back and can still use that garage for storage. and I have a lift in there as well and a lift in my garage so I do have some good storage. I just wanted a larger garage to work in so now I'm stuck with what I have a 34 x 24 garage with 11' ceiling height which is ok.

Good morning pouring like cats and dogs rain jeez. Ya Keith they are crazy especially when you look at my brother in Airdrie selling his 5 bedroom house for 400g although I think he may have left some money on the table but whatever its his deal. I will check out those resorts thanks for the recommendation. I would love to build a proper garage but not at todays price of materials thats for sure.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day, beautiful day here today, lots of sun and 15.
The houses in the Niagara area which is were I'm looking are going from about $1 million and up. But the million dollar places need a minimum of $500k spent on them to make them nice. And then I'll have to spend $50k plus for a decent garage. To get a place with everything I want and move in ready will be around $1.8 to $2.5 million. That would mean going back to work to pay off another 25 year mortgage.
I'm getting depressed just thinking of it. How about some more pictures of your projects boys?

Good day eh. Another nice day for Calgary. 16 for a high, I'll take it.
Reg my brother-in-law has his Airdrie house up for sale and he is in coopers and he's asking 850 with a small double front garage. Really nice house but no yard space.
Dan I'll get some pics for you for tomorrow. I just have to get the pictures off my phone and onto the computer to post them I hate posting on my phone. Doing family cars to day, oil change in a Jeep and transfer case and diff oil change in a Journey.
Great day all!

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good afternoon, we had another beautiful day today and although we hit a high of 13. It felt so much warmer than the 17 we hit yesterday. Started taking the ice rink apart today and removing all of the decorations. I met a guy a few weeks ago and sold him a set of rocker arms. Well he dropped by my house yesterday a gave me some small block stuff that he won't be using and he refused any money for the stuff. Sure made me feel bad after I took his money for the rockers.
Have a great day everyone.

Today was like a beautiful spring day with temps hitting 14,15,16. There is always the possibility of more snow but lets hope for an early spring. I bet Reg is not far from his first lawn cut.

Good day guys. A bit cooler today but sunny and a high of 13.
I'll be working on the Demon today in the other garage. Hopefully I can get the balancer off and repair the threads in 2 of the bolt holes.
Dan I have most of my decorations down already, but still have to finish picking up some lights.
It's nice to see there is some great people out there that are will to give away stuff for free! JG, you're right about the possibility of more snow, hey it's not July yet!!!
Have a great week end!

Good afternoon,
Yesterday was nice and sunny but I guess all that work made him tired as he is hiding...we might even get some rain today.

Good morning 4 and light rain is coming our way. Yesterday was very nice windy but nice. Bought some more polishing bits and pieces for the drill now so I can do more intricate pieces. Going to build some riser blocks for the skate boards under the Valiant to give me some lift height to work under the car.

Good morning, last night we had a bit of freezing rain but already all that had a bit of ice on it is melted. The rest of the day should be cloudy unless the sun makes a few appearances. should reach 8 or so.

Good morning again, another frost free day with clouds unfortunately...not much going on...waiting for rain to wash the salt off the streets so we can take our prized possessions out. There are a few young punks with their hi reving four bangers out but their cars have more power than their brains have.
Have a great and safe day.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day, showers and cool today. Well the contractor has been found and a contract has been signed for my massive home renovation. They are going to start mid July and it will take them 3 to 4 months to complete the job. So I guess the old Duster will go back into storage very early this year. Damn I'm thinking about storage and I haven't even taken it out this year yet. Now the search starts to find a short term rental until all is done.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day, we were supposed to get rain today, but nothing so far we did reach 12 today.
Reg, I've had 4 or 5 offers to store my car at friends houses, but they all say that I have to license and insure it as well as leave the keys with them.
JG, off site indoor storage is pretty expensive around Toronto about $500 a month. Now if I go about an hour away, I can probably find storage for about $350 a month.
