Good morning, we leave for the western part of Canada early tomorrow morning! Today the sun welcomes us with open arms and a blue sky...but there is a slight chance of showers from noon to 3. Yesterday we reached 36 and today already 14, looks good so far.
Have a great day all.

Re: Good Morning Thread
We have it wet and cool today as well. Only a high of 18 for today and rain, but we need some of the wet stuff.
The guy doing my 8 3/4 sure grip didn't have it finished so hopefully I'm picking it up on the weekend so it can be installed on Saturday.
Good day all!

Good morning cool maybe 8-9 rain now rain all day in shower form and the wind is a comin agin. Had the Dart out for a blast last night first time since the wiring was finished. Seem to have a bit of a fuel leak around the new sending unit so will have to drain the tank and see whats up but I see a date with RTV in my future.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Reg do the sending units have a gasket around them, or are they just a steel to steel fit? I forget i put a new one in my new tank with a 3/8 pickup and i dont remember.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Sheldon they have a neopreme or rubber gasket. The new units seem to leak from a softer perhaps a touch thinner locking ring. Not sure why they thought this was a good system for attaching a fuel sender but this is the challenge now. I somehow kept my ols unit and will compare the gaskets but will install the old locking ring instead of the new one and see if that works. I am also going to out a little rtv on it just to make sure. I hate gas the smell of gas bugs the hell out of me and the more expensive the gas the more it bugs me. I walked out of the Chevron and could see a puddle of gas on the tarmac not alot but enough I could notice so went for a good cruise and kept my foot in it to burn some off then syphoned the rest out when I got home. Also bought a new fuel guage today i am tired of dealing with the circut board and have a 3 pack of guages for everything else so gash the fuel guage put in a new one and know for sure how much I have instead of guessing half the time and not knowing the rest.

I ran into that as well, MADE IN CHINA... I used the old thicker locking ring and it was fine.

Good morning all. Back in Ontario. Sorry Jean-Guy. I didn't answer your question. I was in Dartmouth NS and actually caught a couple of cruise nights. Some pretty nice cars! Will have to go there again at some point. Hoping to schedule my next trip around some big car show in your neck of the woods. Will let you know when the time comes. As for the weather here...rain, rain, and more rain; not to mention cool temps. One day summer will arrive.

Happy fathers day Reg. And to all the other Fathers on here. You have to watch with that new seal they send you i think i ended up with a gasket type one not the neoprene one and i used the factory locking ring and mine is golden.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Sheldon heres the fix I came up with. New Spectra tank new sender new gasket(neopreme) new locking ring.....leaks like a sieve. I had it with this repair totally fed up forced me to miss the biggest best car show on the island just po`d. Layed in bed at 4 this morning thinking about it thinking about all the thoughts/solutions/fixes on the internet and decided to make a shim. Went to HD got a piece of 22 gauge sheet metal and some new tin snips after it is fathers day and if you don`t spoil yourself who will? Made a shim, it fit like a glove took an eternity to get evrything centered but this sob was not going to defeat me. Slowing started filling the tank again after all after syhoning it 5 times now I had little desire to have to syphon it again, slowly filling checking filling checking finally full no drops/rivers/torents. So I`ll check in the morning before I declare victory but as of this moment nada leak. As we all know off shore stuff is crap but Spectra is not off shore as far as I am aware so I expected a bit more than payin 400 bucks for a new tank and sender and having to make a fix to get a working fuel system. End of rant hope everyones fathers day was great
