Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning all, going to do a little cruising today, but my first stop is at my buddy's Green & Ross, so I can try and figure out my rear gear ratio.
Sheldon, I guess cool weather, sometimes is a blessing.
Reg, I made that same promise to myself a long time ago as well, and I haven't put anymore than 8 hours of work in a day and have only worked 3 days a week for the last 11 years. I tried full retirement, but its just not for me. I need to do something all the time.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning, 9 this AM but another nice warm day ahead 22 or so. Dan at this point 4 days a week would suite me fine but there is so much bloody work I just can`t turn it away but I do need to slow down a bit. My wife retires next June so will see how that affects the situation.
Have a great day

Reg, sooner or later, you have to refuse work. If you ever intend on some sort of retirement you have to start somewhere. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Agreed Dan - I decided to work Monday to Thursday when I turned 65 and it's working pretty good - cash flow helps with the Fish
Re: Good Morning Thread
I find the extra money, comes in very handy when purchasing fuel, for my gas guzzeling Duster, or purchasing stuff that I don't need for the car and will likely never use. Like buying the numbers matching engine for my car, when in reality, I love the power in the engine that I'm running with now.GONEFISHIN' wrote:Agreed Dan - I decided to work Monday to Thursday when I turned 65 and it's working pretty good - cash flow helps with the Fish
I'm contemplating moving to 2 days a week in the summer and 3 days in the winter.

Re: Good Morning Thread
I'm still around Dan - just doin' that work thing Drove the Fish to work all week - just a couple more small things to get done - gas gauge we think we know where the issue is (old wiring) and waiting for Laysons to ship a new throttle cable since the old one's starting to fray. 1 more big show weekend (Oct 1 & 2 at Port Elgin Pumpkinfest Cinderella's Carriage show)
Re: Good Morning Thread
Gonefishin', I'm at Mitchell. If I can swing the Pumpkinfest show maybe we can run up together. We'll see how things play out.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning, not sure what the temp is today but the rain is a comin for the weekend. All set up in my campsite and it should be a fun day. I have three buddies coming up for some beers food and laughs. These guys have been child hood friends for 50 years and we are still very tight. We only stopped playing hockey in our fifties only because we still played like we were in our 20`s and thats just ruined our knees and hips. I have a prime rib to do in the Big Easy and lots of great bits of food to go along with it. Watch some Jays drink some beer and laught an ass off or two, hope the nieghbours don`t mind!

Re: Good Morning Thread
Slow with work today so I spent the afternoon playing with the carb, jets, power valves and shooters. Runs much better/crisper now. A/F gauge sure comes in handy! I think I'll buy a jet kit as I'm not finished yet.... I have this carb on my 451" Hands down the best carb I've ever owned! Tons more adjustments than a standard Holley!

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good afternoon all, well we got nothing but rain today. However it is warm and very humid. Not much going on today, so I'm just playing around in the garage. Have a good day.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Isn't it funny, no matter how much power we have, we always want more. Problem is, there's very few places left that we can use all the power.

That is very true, hard to find someplace where you can put it to the rug?

Good morning all, supposed to be a decent day today. Going to take a nice leisurely country cruise in the Duster, and check out the fall colours. Enjoy your day all.

Not much fall colours anywhere. I guess the warm humid weather, has thrown everything out of whack.
