Re: 68 Dart
Reg, this looks like the right seat for your car. However it's hard to tell because it's upside down. lol

I hope to never have my seat upside down that would be a very bad thing!

Whoever sits on there will soon be on the floor! Novel idea to put seats on the inside top rather than on the floor, buckle up time.

Thank you very much. If you make it over here for sure we have to meet up. I am not sure if I am going to the mainland this summer for a show or two but if I go to Penticton I will let you know.

Re: 68 Dart
So in the one thing leads to another theme it all started with a signal cancellor that was broken and needed replacing and this is where it got too. I always wanted a wood steering wheel so lets get one so when I replace the signal switch I`ll just put the new wheel on. Oh hell that steering column needs to get customized now that I have a floor shift instead of the column shift. Might as well redo the gauge cluster while its out and hey look those defrost hoses are a bit old and kinda full of holes so lets get those replaced. Well now that everything is out may as well paint the dash, damn orange peel @#$^^%$$##@@.

Re: 68 Dart
The red set of steering collars were from a life long friends wrecked Dart. He very thoughfully cut the gear inicator and shift lever fitting off and jb weldede and bondoed them for me. I primed and painted them only to find my steering shaft was a different model and they would not fit so the black ones are mine and I have restarted that process.

That would be opening up another big can of worms. Mounting, Wiring. and probably a bunch of other stuff.

Re: 68 Dart
Finished the dash today, its always more than you think isn`t it? I was trying and trying to get a 2 inch wide 23 inch long piece painted under the gauge cluster and it was never ending fish eye despite every trick in the book it would not stop so I said ---- it. I had some carbon fibre under my bench and cut it to fit and voila got that pain in the patoot out of the way. Some year down the road if I ever do a tear down I will get the complete dash stripped and done but for now the frustration is over. I like the steering wheel, it may be a tad to light but it will age and the colour will darken over time. I tried my damndest to get these the right side up so if they aren`t sorry but I tried.

Re: 68 Dart
Was taking too long to hand sand all the exhaust so went to HD and bought a ROsander boy did that speed up things. Did you know the finest grit sandpaper for the RO sander was 220, seemed kinda weird to me but I solved that with two sided carpet tape and just put the paper on as I needed it right up to 2000 grit. I can finally hang the exhaust tomorrow and then get the new rear end installed.

Have any idea what those pipes will look like in one year(or maybe One week) and I doubt you will take them all apart again to clean them up.

Re: 68 Dart
Gets driven on sunny days only maybe 5-7 hundred miles a year I know exactly how they will look. Its not a daily driver and never will be. Using that same logic I guess all the motorcycle guys should stop polishing their pipes
