The parts I got were great and the shipping was fast but the communication was less than adequate.smoken340 wrote:Good day all. Was a nice day today. Well the rest of my parts never came in from National Moparts, apparently the sending unit is on back order, so they won't ship until the order is complete. The bad part is, I sat home all day yesterday waiting for the delivery that never came, however never did the phone call telling me it didn't ship.
Fortunately, I'm in no rush. That said customer service really doesn't exist anywhere, anymore.

Good morning all, real cool start to the day and not going to get much warmer for the next several days. Ordered some custom wood work for my windows about a month ago. It's ready so off I go to pick it up and start installing it. Should take 4 or 5 days to do.
Have a good day all.

Damp, cool, and snowing Will be glad to see the sun again. New dash and guages installed; Tranny re-tuned (had to have a synchro ring replaced); new repro windshield washer system ready to install; engine re-build should be done by 15th; new alternator, voltage regulator, starter, clutch, bell, drive shaft balanced, my summer should start by end of April!
Re: Good Morning Thread
Snow flakes. I can't believe it. Had the Duster out a week ago and now this.
I knew going to the Home Show with Claudia was a bad idea. Basement is going to be reno'd now. Mucho dinero. On the other hand it we do spend a lot of time down here and it is currently very cold and dingy. I will have a much nicer den and a wet bar. Also a fireplace.

Kind of seen that coming Steve. Just as long as it doesn't cut into your cruising time, then you'll be alright. It's always a good investment. I redid mine last year including an upgrade from a 3 pc. bathroom, to a 4 pc. with a custom shower, that's damn near as big as my bedroom. lol

Morning all, the weather has been spectacular since wed and now we are supposed to get rain for a couple days. I was needing dry weather for a big concrete I currently have booked for tomorrow and not looking promising. Here are a couple pics of the deck I have to pour, will have two 52 meter pumps set up pushing 600m3 with a 7:00 to 3:00 window as we are on the corner of two arterial roads.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Some more pics for your entertainment.
Good Friday I chipped a hole in the foundation wall from the garage to the crawl space so we have easier access than what we had from the laundry rm. This took me 6 hrs using a 50 pound jackhammer and it beat shite out of me. After the first hour I finely had to find some rope to hang the chipper from the truss. I then stuffed a whole lot of stuff in there that I am not using right now until I get the inside of the garage done.

The topside of the concrete pouring site looks better than the underside, what goes on top?

Wow, sounds nice. Did you do it yourself or have a contractor do it? If it was a contractor, do you mind telling me who it was and if you're happy with their work?
We've has a couple of quotes, more than we thought but they were pretty similar. It is going to be a big space and requires quite a lot of demolition since it is already finished but very dated and cold.
And what's the story with the weather around here? I just came in from clearing a mess of deadwood (the chainsaw I bought after the ice storm comes in handy again) from out back and now it's snowing. Some spring!
Steve

The darn thing about a basement reno is that there is always demolition involved and surprises almost always pop up somewhere.

Hey Steve, I actually did most of the work myself. All except the bathroom, in there I did most of the plumbing and all of the insulation myself. I had a contractor friend do the custom shower tiling and such. He did a great job, but being a small company he is sometimes booked way ahead. He has a great reputation, his name is Paul and his company is called kalibur DESIGNS (this is how he spells it ) his phone number is 416-899-0827. Just tell him that Dan from Third St. gave you his information.
Late winter, Late spring.
Hope this helps you Steve.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning 8 to get er going but cloudy and periods of rain all day. Back to real work for a rest for the next 5 days phew that was a long tough two days and have the sore muscles and bruises and burns and cuts to prove it but she fired. May take an hour or so today if my buddy comes by to install the new brake lines and bleed the brakes. I know it would have been easier before the motor went in but we needed to have them in the way of the motor going in to bend them just enough to have them leak and once we pulled them to reflare found that someone had flared them with a nail or screw instead of a flaring tool.
Have a great day

Good day all, well we got around 10cm of snow last night. Made for an interesting drive this morning. Hopefully it will warm up next week and all of this crap will disappear.
