Sorry to hear that Dan. In time it will be a good thing that at least you got to say goodbye and share a few precious moments together.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Thanks for the spport guys. I was glad that I had the chance to say goodbye. The Doctor, told my cousin that my aunt wouldn't make it through tonight. My aunt wasn't able to speak but she was awake and knew that I was there.

+6 here today. Weird sh!t Back to -1C tomorrow though. Off to The Grey Cup in Winnipeg then for the celebrations. Game time temps are forecast to be -4C. I think I'm going to watch the game from a nice warm bar.

Make sure you not to overwork yourself and get sick again. You could take a few days off or maybe even retire again til you recuperate.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning all, I have thought about retiring again, I'm just not sure how I'd fill my days, without going broke on eBay or some other place buying stuff that I don't need.
J-G, have a safe trip.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Just got the bad news, my Aunt passed away. I was very close to her and will miss her very much. At least I had the opportunity to say goodbye.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Thanks Phil, if there was ever anyone on this earth, who deserved to be in better hands, it was this lady. She was one in a million.

Answer to that: STOP buying stuff that you do not need
Sorry to hear about your aunt, sounds as if she was a mighty fine lady. I guess the line "the good dye young", would be fitting in this case.

I don't think theres a true car guy alive, that hasn't bought something that they didn't need, just because it was a good deal. Some of us are just worse than others when it comes to buying stuff.

Re: Good Morning Thread
This is true, but I was brought up with no money so now I don't buy unless I can afford it and I understand the concept of buy now and maybe pay later, which is what drives most of the younger generation and some of the not so young.smoken340 wrote:JGL wrote:Dan wrote: "I have thought about retiring again, I'm just not sure how I'd fill my days, without going broke on eBay or some other place buying stuff that I don't need.

Re: Good Morning Thread
I was also brought up with no money. I've seen more supper times than suppers, We actually used to fry potato peelings for supper at times. I'm pretty good off financially now and I also believe in the you can't take it with you. If there's any left over for my kids when I go then good for them, if not then they won't be any worse off than they are now. I'm going to enjoy what I worked for first, if that means blowing it on stuff that I don't need. OH WELL lol.

Re: Good Morning Thread
My wife is like that and she is trying to convince me but she has a hard time to convince me at times. I always think of: what happens if we run out? she has more than I have...
I guess its how you see it.
