Re: Good Morning Thread
Windy and cool today. I drug my boat down to my parents' place (where the shop is), untarped it and plugged the onboard charger in to top the batteries back up. Should have left it plugged in all winter but it wasn't in the cards, and the way I have it wired, they're all completely disconnected when the key is off anyway. Changed oil and checked fluids on my dually to start getting it ready for trailer tow season. Started making a list of what I absolutely have to get done before I take off for May long weekend as there's no way I will get everything done that I would like to, just the essentials. There's a stocked trout pond about 10 minutes from home so I plan to have the boat ready to dunk next weekend just to make sure everything is good to go before I make the 3 hour drive the weekend after that. Not really a bunch of stuff to do to it at least.

Cut grass, some stuff off the honey do list and then BBQ and some craft beer. Pretty good day overall.

Hi, did some outside spring work and tried not to think of the Dart Sport for the rest of the day. Worked fairly well actually.

Good morning all, X2 on this J-G. It sounds like the heat from blasting it, may have warped the intake.
Looks like another beautiful day here, so I'm going out for some cruising in the Duster.
Have a great day all.

Good ol water, I have a sealing problem, I'm getting instructions from Coyote Jack from FABO, he's been doing this for 40 years and is very meticulous so I am going to try a third time and if it doesn't work I'll let the pros do it.Grumpy427 wrote:Hey Jean Guy, What is leaking? Re: Good Morning Thread
And another Good Morning, the sun has been out and shining since yesterday and is supposed to hang around all week, great weather to do outside work but today I will be heading 1 1/2 hour east of here with my son to see a wrestling match. He's a big wrestling fan, although like me not very big in size.
This morning I plan to do some phone shopping for some gaskets and keeping my fingers crossed. I am sort of getting used to taking the ol girl apart, unfortunately.

Re: Good Morning Thread
My squence for intake gaskets goes like this. I spray gasket tac on the heads and both sides of the gasket, lay the gasket on the heads. Then i run 2 beads of silicon on the front and rear of the block. Then i run a bead of silicon around the water jacket port on the gasket as well. then set the intake down and start to snug the bolts from the center outward. Never had a leak in my life. Hope you get this sorted out.

Re: Good Morning Thread
My day was nowhere as good as Sheldon's. But I did get quite a bit of stuff accomplished. On the bad side, I see my boat trailer has a bent axle....again. Not fooling around this time, going to upgrade it to something that won't give me anymore trouble. By the time I'm done fighting with this trailer all that will be left original will literally be the main frame. Such is life. Changed the water pump impeller and the leg oil on the gas kicker. Got the transom electric trolling motor going again. Tested the front trolling motor and anchor winch, all the pumps and lights. Tow truck is basically ready to go now as well. Was going to start building a Thermoquad for the D150 but my core is missing pieces, I started robbing them off a parts carb and lost a screw so I took that as a sign to stop. Wish I had all the stuff still I've been collecting for years!
I need to hook the tow truck to the boat now and head to town one night after work (1/2 hour from the closest big town) to wash the truck and fill the boat up with fuel. Then I can dump the boat, hook on to my holiday trailer and pull it down to start de-winterizing and testing. This week at work should be slower so I hope to get stuff done at night. Time will tell.

Re: Good Morning Thread
No matter how old we get JG we all love toys, right? I have quite a few, but they are not fancy and all paid for. I'd still like to get another sled over the summer, someday an Aspen for a personal ride and a couple other little things, but like everything else I have, they will be used and I'll stroke a cheque for them. I've played the payment game and didn't like it that much.

Good Morning everyone, the sun is shining, temps are up, the day is looking up.
Silvercloud, having all your toys paid for is a step in the right direction. Too many people can`t say the same thing. Mine has been paid for many years ago. My Dart Sport was 39 years old this mid-April, all of them spent with me.

Hope you guys had a good weekend, high of 20 today in Calgary.
Dam I can't believe it is a 2 year wait to get a car painted, with a waiting list like that is lets them charge what that want.

The 2 year wait is for the backyard guys who have their own shops at home. Their labour rates range anywhere from $30 to $40 an hour and they don't accept credit lol!
