+1 but dim & cloudy with sunny breaks - Reg, I haven't had enough heat to even think about trying to fire up the Fish - I usually wait until we've had at least 4 or 5 days in a row above 0 - looking forward to getting all the small stuff finished this year
Re: Good Morning Thread
-3 this morning, high of 3. going to stay above freezing during the day for the next 10 days. That should clear the icebergs out front of the house.

I definitely agree. Beer on ice is always good and sometimes some of those tasty drinks too.
We had a fairly pleasant day so far, started off at -2 and now 6.

Morning guys, had a bit of snow last night but should be melted later today high of 3 but suppose to be 12 buy the weekend. defiantly won't make 20 like Reg.
Trying to get oil pressure in the Cuda today, made 2 other attempts but no oil pressure.. ug Don't want to fire it until I can guarantee no dry start.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning, the lawn did not show up yet, it's a sunny day which went from -7 to -1 so far, our high should be 3. The water is flowing and finding the catch basins.
A slow melt is much better than a quick one(less danger of floods in the flood danger areas).
Oh Reg if you get up and it is too dark to see outside that means it's time to go back to bed or your not awake yet.
Have a great day.

Good morning, started at -6 so far up to 1 and heading to 10 range and sun most of the day. Welcome back Cookie-Monster, you think we should choose another subject to talk about...well if it is women the subject might get touchy and we might even get crap for it and it is not spring yet so we can't really talk about cars, money is another no. Ah well.

Yea I'd rather talk about cars, but hey it's winter.. but good news for me I was able to get oil pressure in the Cuda last night. Now I have to put together what I took apart and see if when cranked I still have some oil pressure. Then to put the exhaust back on and maybe I'll be ready to fire it up in a few weeks after finishing off the wiring harness.
PS it's nice and warm here, +7 for a high...

Re: Good Morning Thread
Sounds like you guys park your cars under the snow bank like I used to do before the wife took over the garage but that time has passed...it now sleeps soundly all winter, all tucked in, in a cold garage.
Still sunny and 11.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Walked out to my garage yesterday and pulled back the cover on the Duster. But that didn't change the fact that there are still snow banks out there and the roads are full of salt. So we complain about the weather for another month or so. With that said, I did go to my first car show last week and at the end of the March, I'll be going to the first swap meet of the year. So the car season slowly approaches us.

Slowly is RIGHT, the first inside one is in about 2 months and outside in about 2 1/2 months. Reg is starting earlier than that though.
AH WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Good Morning Thread
I did a stint up in Hinton, Alberta, Yellowhead county actually, finishing up a bldg for occupancy for Coalspur coal mine. Was up there during the polar vortex and for over a week it was below -30, soon as you walked out side you could feel the hairs in your nose start freezing. My wife had to put our lab down while I was up there and that was hard for her and shitty for me. Now we have a new member to the family to keep us busy.

They sure look nice when they're not full of grease + oil, keeping them that way will take elbow grease and help from some cleaner.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Oh and by the way, GOOD MORNING, looks like the sun took the day off, was just below 0 this morning and now 5, I think most of Canada had a taste of that vortex for a while. Looks like the spring birds made an appearance this morning, they ate most of what was in the bird feeder and it's not as quiet outside as it was this winter. We are to get some light rain today and tomorrow.
Have a great day people.
