Good morning 21 and really damn smokey. Just put the second batch of sockeye in the canner. Thats 60 jars for the weekend, not bad. Aaron we used to do Spring salmon because they were so plentiful but trust everyone to fk that up so now I don`t have a boat I wait till the Sockeye are in at the grocers and go buy them filet them and smoke them, way cheaper than owning a boat you can hardly used anymore. Besides that I could not afford an Abody and a boat lol.
Have a great day

Birthday??? That is the kind of medicine people our age NEED every once in a while or you might go downhill faster than you want. You are 60 something right? Have you made any retirement plans yet? I am sure you know it's coming.
yup, 60-something
I cut back to working Monday to Thursday when I turned 65, plan on Monday to Wednesday when I turn 70
I love what I do and have a lot of fun - and a one-year A-body is an expensive toy to play with
Re: Good Morning Thread
Lyle, same plan out here. Don`t want to quit because the day they do i will be going out the front door feet first! I learned from a fellow upholster and mentor, he retired and two days later he had a massive stroke whilst gardening, never had a stroke doing upholstery theres a lesson to be learned here I think.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Retired when I turned 56, but soon got bored. Took on a part time job just to get out of the house. But I find lately that I’m tired of doing this so I think maybe another year and I’m going to retire full time.

Retirement is great ...unless you have a decent paying job which is something I never had. Government jobs are supposedly great and have good benefits.

Good morning, sun is out sometimes, the day started at 12 which is cool, now 23 going to 27 region. Looks like 30 degree weather is gone for this year...it was nice while it lasted. Last evening was the second to last cruise in for me this season because the 2nd to 12th we will be going to Newfoundland, St Pierre + Miquelon and Magdelene islands. These are all islands off Newfoundland.
Have a great day all.

JG, sometimes it’s not about the money. For me it’s to keep me busy. I also enjoy what I’m doing, so that helps.

Re: Good Morning Thread
JG you guys must shut down early - our last show is the second weekend in October - Octoberfest in Kitchener!
Re: Good Morning Thread
I like what I am doing too Dan and now that I am doing the odd car its even better. Theres so many guys still working here and I am sure else where because of the talent drain. Kids don`t want to do this stuff so for guys more senior than me it keeps the brain working and the hands active and I`ll be the same. The money helps no doubt, it affords the guys a trip to swap meets in the States to have a beer with an old friend or foe a trip to a car show thats a day or two away and so on. I have a freind who wholesales cars and needs them moved between dealers I may do that in the future, theres RV`S that need to be moved from Indiana to dealers here I may do that. I can`t sit still I need/want to keep active and if theres a buck in it all the better but this is just me everyones different and has a different situation. I just don`t want to stop, maybe slow down a bit a little less pressure maybe.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Well Reg, I’m definitely not doing what I do for the money. I only work, a couple days a week and am only getting minimum wage. I just need to keep busy. I’m not like some people who are always traveling, I get tired of doing that very fast. I always find one big car show every year and build a vacation around it. I also love doing the smaller shows that are within a few hundred kilometres. You know, the kind of show you can kill the whole day in and around them.

"2nd weekend of October'' down here you can expect frost or be darn close to it so most older cars are put away or getting close. Our season starts late and finishes early. Darn it.

Hi all, this morning is cloudy but will be clearing up a bit later, the low this morning was 15, 20 now and rising to 25-27 range. Yesterday was a relaxing day, went to an attraction about 1 hour away and relaxed all day.
Have a great day.

Good morning 11 and I am not sure if I can blue or amber yet. The smoke really blew in last evening and we both have headaches and sore throats today. Done JG, it was a great evening the kids were great the grandkids really great nothing got broke burned poisoned or pissed off so a rousing success I would say.

Mikes Mopar, have you ever been to the swap meet at the Canadian Tire on the Queensway. Are there any vendors selling Mopar stuff ?
