Cookie-monster, is there going to be an investigation for the cause of the collapse?

Wow, Cookie-Monster had quite a day yesterday, like they say ''close but no cigar'' keep good luck on your side and you'll have it made.
Good morning, quite a storm yesterday and thankfully we never lost power, was 0 when I woke and the water was flowing outside but not now as it is already -2 and the wind which is still present makes it feel like -15.
Have a great day all.

Our wind died down so yours too should do the same thing at some point...although we still do get some gusts.

We new what caused the collapse right after it happened but, yes, I had our Geotech come out and take pictures and file a report and we discussed the fix just to be on the up and up. He previously signed off on the work so we were covered in that
regard but that would not have done much good when being buried under that pile. There was a pocket of pit run fill that had a lot of rock from 3" to 24" right behind the thin layer of clay that was left when we cut the banks and the bottom let go due to
the freeze and thaw and rain in the mix which got in behind from the top. Where I was standing we had just cut 8" down and I was standing on wet blue clay so I would not have had a chance at all to move and that material came down and out like right now.
Thankfully I can just chalk it to another eventful day on the job.

-26 here this morning, back out I go fixing snowblowers. It's not as bad as it sounds, I dress for it and usually it's a 20 minute fix, then back in my service van to warm up going to the next call. I didn't turn off the van all day though.

Good morning evening style, woke up late after going to bed at 2:00 AM. Started taking the Christmas decorations, over 1/2 done already. Real cold, the thermometer says -18 but the wind ads another 15 degrees or so degrees. We have luckily been unscathed during the storm.
Have a great day...or what is left of it.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning, another cold one, from -22 to -20 and sunny presently, it sure is too cold to think of our Mopars and if spring is around the corner for Dan it sure as hell is not here...it is like a very distant dream, another 3 1/2 months away at least. By the way Dan I saw you weather forecast and it does not look too promising...looks wet and maybe white.
Have a great day.

Sometimes that 3 1/2 months turns in to 4, we are not like you lucky ones that put their cars away for 2-3 months...that is why we are dreamers and sometimes philosophers.

Hate to say it but my buddy who is building a 69 Swinger stopped by Friday in his 67 Dart, thought he would warm the oil up so went for a drive. YeeshJGL wrote:Ragtacker said: '' JG what is life without a dream(philosopher Reg) 3 1/2 months though yikes''.

Good morning, nice to see Dan is able to type and reply. We had a few CM of snow last night, like maybe 5. Not as cold and should see temps on the plus side Wednesday-Thursday.
Have a good day and keep up your spirit Dan.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good morning, light snow again, a little snow blowing. Temps started at -7 this morning and now -5. I think I mind light snow less than rain...but then it depends on how cold and windy it is.
Keep plugging away Dan.
Have a great day everybody.
