Re: My new project. Satelitte Sebring 1972
Car was sold new at Sorenson Toronto. I'm the third owner. 30 000 miles, one repaint. Présently has a warmed over 360 with x heads, mopar purple cam, etc. 391 gear...
The car is too nice to modify it so i'm going to put a 3.23 in it, Chrysler Rally Wheel, probably install a milder cam, stock Thermoquad and enjoy.

Nice looking car. I think that I'm a little jealous.

Re: My new project. Satelitte Sebring 1972
Installed new repro Mopar leaf springs and bushings. What a difference, the rear end doesn't sag anymore, the handling is much better.
Have to change the shocks absorber, it's the original one...
top, repro Mopar 426/440
bottom, original 318,

WOW lucky find, beautiful car...you are going to change the rad, does that mean the original engine is going to be next.
By the way, super nice wheels, same as mine...they are made by American Racing and are called "Ventura".

The original 318 is long gone, replace by a built 360. I've ordered Magnum 500 wheels, i prefer the "classy" look.

That is fantastic looking!
Should look just as good with Magnums on her.

Maybe you got lucky and it was stored in a barn or garage when not driven...and specially not driven during the salty months.

Re: My new project. Satelitte Sebring 1972
Looks like somebody painted black undercoating all over the engine bay. It is supposed to be the same colour as the body, only ford paints their engine compartment black.
Overall the car looks good though.

Exactly and it's a mess to remove.

Re: My new project. Satelitte Sebring 1972
Specially without removing the engine. Didn't you say you were going to change engines? If so just get the bay sandblasted once the engine is out and repaint the bay.

Re: My new project. Satelitte Sebring 1972
Years ago a buddy bought a 73 Duster with the exact same black stuff on in it, under the hood and in the trunk....
I remember he used gasoline to wash it off until his Dad yelled at us for doing it in their yard so we towed it to a local coin wash and doused it in gas there what a mess

Re: My new project. Satelitte Sebring 1972
Alan, as young guys we cleaned everything with gas. I think we are lucky that we didn't blow ourselves to bits.
