DAYTONA 500, 2017
Watched the Daytona 500, 2017 edition the same day that I taped it. I know it does not interest a lot of people but it has been interesting me since the time of Richard Petty and the rest of the boys of that era. I only seen the 500 live in 1979 and that year Richard won driving an Olds. I have always kept an eye on how Richards drivers were doing. When he started driving, he drove Plymouths just like his father. This year Kurt Busch won and the only lap he led was the last one. He is probably the oldest of the regulars(or close to it). GO KURT GO!!

I watch Nascar and straight line racing. It was a crash fest today and sadly our Lordco boy got caught up in a big wreck, shame because he was quietly having a good race. Always like to see some of the big names get picked off and seeing the 48 car out was just fine with me. Like you JG my fondness of the go lefters was born with Petty and the good old boys chucking nuckles crashing each other and generally having poor attitudes. The 1/4 milers are just getting going as well and sadly the tv coverage has faded to zilch for them at a time when the speeds are incredible. Who would ever have thought a 1/4 in 3.8 not me thats for sure

Looks like you don't like the 48 car either...Damn good choice, he has had too much of his share of winning and I believe that is what turned so many people off. I love to see him crash too. As for the drag racing, looks like the popularity went down or at least the financing for the filming and the speeds are skyrocketing.

Watch a bit of the 500 yesterday. Not a race but an infocommercial. What a waste...

A crash fest, 40 cars started but only 22-23 finished...well only about 15 or so were on the lead lap and a bunch more were far behind.

Watched the race as well. If it has wheels I will watch it, except bikes. Not to crazy about the way the race is now sectioned with predetermined yellow flags, I prefer the strategy of green light pit stops. The number of crashes was crazy, not sure if the new rules had a part in it. Good to see Kurt Bush get the win, was happy to see Kyle Bush kiss the outside wall.

Let's just say the Busch brothers have a style all their own.
