just recieved an idle stop solenoid to take care of dieseling when shutting of engine. It's an reproduction at 100$ not like an original i've had found, the seller wanted 500 us$

Isn't the job of a idle stop solenoid to stop your carb from closing too quickly? If so it would do the job of the opposite reaction you want. I always thought ignition timing is usually the culprit when there is a dieseling issue.

No, it will close the carb butterfly completle so no no more fuel in the combuation chamber when the ing switch is turned off.
