Power came back last night. But there still lot of work to do. I bought a 7500W generator last sunday,got heat and light with it as it's was a bit cold in the house.

Use the BBQ to cook some meals, eat sandwichs etc.

The big ice storm in Qc was in 1998. My brother was without electricity foR 28 consecutive days.

GOOD FOR YOU, I heard on the news that by tonight about 75% of the Acadian Peninsula will have power, that is a very good thing, one of the workers said on tv that there will still be some work to do once spring and summer roll around, work that did not have to be done right a way. I hope you used the BBQ outside and not in like some people did.

Good to hear. Not fun. We heat our house with a woodstove. These type of "events" are one of the reasons why...

Good morning all. Looks like a cool day with a high of -5 and a wind chill of -12, but it should be sunny. Well according to the Ground Hogs in Nova Scotia and Ontario, we are in for an early spring. Sure hope their right.

Good morning everyone, sunny and -5 this morning with about 3 cm of fresh snow...sure looks nice when there is such a small amount. Glad to hear that philcollins has light and heat again but now it's about to be very careful and watch out for spoiled food, getting real sick is another possibility.

Don't worry JG, didn't lost any food, put everything in cooler outside. Everything stayed frozen until we've got the power back. Very Happy

good morning 0 and maybe 4 but that wind is still around. I knew I forgot something this morning and just saw a note for this thread which jogged the old grey matter.

Cold, very cold but sunny. Skidoo time, at last.

Will have to trailer snowmobile for an hour, trails are close down here.

Good morning 1 and snowfall warning just issued. Wth this is Victoria stupid weather supposed to be lousy all weekend. Oh well Friday it is, the yacht will be mostly done today just waiting for a bit of vinyl to arrive.

All that I know is we were at -8 with a wind-chill of -16. We are supposed to get down to -18 tonight with a wind-chill of -26. Any way you slice it, that's cold.

LOL! It's crazy I'm in the " snow belt" ( lake effect) drive 20 minutes south and its very different, usually no snow.
We have a couple feet still on the ground , even after a big melting spell a couple weeks back.

Yeah Brads70 a heavy frost is about right although our winter so far is very calm...my snow blower is not stretching out its legs very much.

Good morning all bright sunny day but when you look at the thermometer it's not so nice...-17 overnight and -15 now and it's almost ten o'clock. Doesn't seem to be any wind though but the good part is that by July we'll see 30's and sun (it's also a lot dryer than close to the great lakes).
