1971 340 build

Started with a standard bore 1970 engine block: Decked, 0,30" overbore etc.



Scat rotating assy: forged crank, conn rods and flat top pistons

Had problem with Crane 1,6 roller rocker....



cam is Hugues roller rocker

42° BBC

Intake Closing at .050"
Exhaust Closing at .050" 34° ABC
-4° ATC

Min. Suggested Cylinder PSI 165

Sweet Spot RPM 1400 -5800

Next on agenda: painting original 1971 valve cover, rebuilding 6139S Thermoquad, electric ckoke conversion, TTI headers on order.

The rocker rollers were not centered on the valve tip. And even worse at full lift. Only 0,025" near the circumference of the tip.

If you only drive it in the summer you don't need a choke anyway, unless you want your car as it was when it came out of the factory.

I took out the electric choke, was not needed. I'm going back to the original choke. I also want my cars to function exactly as Mother Mopar designed them. So a choke is going in.
