If our snow melts too fast that could be trouble because all the catch basins are plugged with snow and ice.
Hey J-G, yes I know it's going to take a few good rains to wash the salt away. I usually don't take my car out before the middle of May. My birthday is on the 13th of May, so I normally like to take my first cruise then.
Not to rub it in, but this puts us one rainfall closer than you easterners, for cruise season. lol
Middle of may, that's what I aim for too.

Sheldon, Mother Nature was sent notification about the date for spring. However it was sent through the post office, and we all know how slow the mail can be. On a positive note, the bad weather can't last forever.

Another thing Sheldon, I don't want to pick on you personally but it is nice to see somebody else have their turn with the white stuff.

Maybe if you offer free shipping you can get rid of some. Not to me of coarse.

Good morning to you all. We're not done in Ontario...not on the other side of the 401 anyway. Snowy and cool here today but nice temps coming on the weekend.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good Morning, Hello to another sunny day, gee that makes 2 in a row. Yesterday the water was flowing outside and today is supposed to be more of the same but a little warmer. Might get some rain Thursday evening and Friday though. At least it wont be below freezing but the snow might melt too fast causing more problems.

I'm on high ground so I should be ok but others on low ground not so much....The city is clearing storm drains and hydrants for the upcoming rain.

Re: Good Morning Thread
Good day all, raining here today, was nice this morning but everything changed around lunch time. J-G, hopefully it's a slow melt, because with all of the snow you have there, I'm not sure high ground will make a lot of difference. No matter how you look at it, a quick fast melt won't be good for anyone there.

Re: Good Morning Thread
How was your wet day at work? Our drizzle is to start Thursday evening or night and continue Friday but with a freeze up during the very early hours. Calling for 10-20 mm of wet stuff.
As for the flooding part, Coyote Jack lives only a few miles from the St John river and it is very prone to flooding every spring depending how the ice breaks up, so he is a little more prone than me although where he lives he is actually much higher than the city itself. Over 200 feet higher.

Actually had a nice day today. Went to the auction house with my Boss and he bought me a real nice lunch. I'm sure I'll pay for it later somehow.

Good morning all, looks like another cool damp day today. So I think I'm going to hit the lazy boy, for some R&R.

Dam that's a cool one. That's normally what we get here in Calgary, not that I want to swap weather but +3 now at 8:10 and a high of 13 for today.petnic01 wrote:Good morning all. -18C here with the wind. Fricken beautiful!

Where is Jean-Guy today? He forgot to say good morning.
I hope he didn't get washed out to sea with all that snow and then some rain with some nice warm weather...

I was wondering the same thing, He doesn't go on vacation for another couple of weeks. He's probably helping with sand bags or something like that. All of the mild weather they have been getting the last few days, can't be to good for flooding.
