Re: Moparfest 2018
the US vendors were jammed up at the border last year because if some sort of pre payment deposit of taxes and a couple of the bigger Canadian guys said they don't think the US guys will even bother trying to come next year .Laysons did all rheir normal paperwork and ended up turning the truck around at the border .It really is going to hurt the show along with the end of the car give away .Still trying to figure out how they came up with tge number of 15k for the replacement cash prize , we know the budget for the car was 30k so why wouldn't they go for tge big number ? 25k sounds like a real sweet cash prize 15k is sort of meh .

If they go through with this decision to allow non automotive stuff there, then I for one will not be returning to Moparfest again.

Re: Moparfest 2018
I'm not ready to bail on them yet , everything they make goes to children's charities but they will need to find a way to bring in more Mopar related stuff .From talking to some of the people involved they are having a tough time finding the sort of motivated volunteers it takes to do give away cars , time was they restored a car, then they were buying restored cars because of the time and effort involved , now it's a cash prize . We're not all EBody millionaires but still quality merch is better than cash anyday .

Re: Moparfest 2018
For me its more of a social gathering than anything, a chance to meet up with friends that I haven't seen for a year. I can remember going when there was no parts area. So it will be disappointing to see the dilution of the vendors, but its about the cars, the people and the charities.

Re: Moparfest 2018
There are enough flea markets in southern Ontario now, without taking the only great Mopar show we have and ruining it. My wife and I donate to lots of charities already including the Children's Wish Foundation. I've been attending Moparfest for nearly 20 years, missing the occasional year. But if the choose to go through with this then I'll never go back. Same thing as the Barrie Automotive Flea Market, they allowed non automotive stuff in and now you have to look at an ocean full of crap just to find anything car related. I have not returned to Barrie for over 5 years now. I'll just buy on line.
