Barrett Jackson
71 Duster just crossed tonight 24g`s they never showed much except for the hideous job someone did installing the 340 wedge decal on the hood. Whoever did that needs to get back to flipping burgers

Re: Barrett Jackson
You are absolutely right JG. But I think if it had been presented better, it would have probably brought more money.JGL wrote:And besides that was 24 G's American...

Re: Barrett Jackson
Seems like the Mopar muscle doesn`t get the love but if you are selling a Camaro or Chevelle its money city. 68 Roadrunner went for 33 and the following Chev clone went way higher. I watch this stop to start, for me its a car show the money isnt really an indication of anything other than well lubed(alcohol)bidders either spending their kids inheritance or kids spending their new found wealth. Alot of the cars that went yesterday and today can`t be built for what they are getting so.......... i don`t know about back east but out here body and paint is 20 grand before you turn a bolt so 30 US is not bad. Watch the Super Bee coming tomorrow lot 839

Re: Barrett Jackson
The fact that the Mopars, aren't getting any respect, is no surprise.

Re: Barrett Jackson
When I got mine painted (12 1/2 years ago) I got a real good deal, now a days the same thing is 5-10 grand and any fancy paint well the price goes up. A person could get a fairly good paint job for somewhere around 12 grand...I think and if the painter is a good acquaintance then you never know.

Re: Barrett Jackson
I paid $10 grand, plus to pain my Duster 4 years ago. It didn't require any patch work, but about 2 weeks of prep work. I believe its a very nice paint job, but nothing spectacular. Not many regular body shops want to even look at these old cars, because they are afraid of whats under the old paint. And that's why resto shops charge so much.

Another thing, NB has the lowest prices on just about everything same as with our salaries...not a whole lot of millionaires.

Re: Barrett Jackson
Some guy on Facebook is at Barrett Jackson, and he looked at this Duster. This was his opinion.
Mike Krueger I am here and checked out that 71 ... the guy had wrinkled and bubbled decals on it ! Did not wash up under the hood etc. Paint chips and bad paint in general. I don't understand how it went for that.

Re: Barrett Jackson
First day of the Auction is supposed to be the affordable cars, so people on a budget can get into the hobby. They do advertise “( something for everyone). At least this is all that I can figure as to how it was allowed through.

Re: Barrett Jackson
Shit load of Dollars being spent today. I know a lot of people say it’s just a lot of drunks with money, but I really enjoy watching it. You sure see some nice cars, of all makes and models.

Re: Barrett Jackson
Whats your opinion on the under carriage video of the Super bird. I was working on the Dart so missed that part but did see the car but theres alot of questions about some rust or a bad bondo job underneath. I have it all recorded so will try to pay more attention when I watch it but just wondering if you saw it. There sure was some neat stuff today as I was in and out of the shop but for awhile everytime I came in there was a different Vette on the block. I am with you I also really enjoy watching its a free car show for me and entertaining watching the floor walkers working the crowd

Re: Barrett Jackson
Reg, the body work looked terrible, lots of cracks in the underside of the rockers. This was shown by the camera man.
