Post by Ragtacker Sat Jan 09, 2016 4:15 pm

Hi there,
I Just brought my new baby home today and am pretty happy I must say. This is a true survivor, no bondo no replaced panels nada nuttin. I can`t believe its sitting in my driveway. I have been lurking here for awhile and did not register for fear of jinxing this. Some of you may have seen this listed for sale online.

Welcome to the site from Dieppe, NB but which island are you talking about? Is it P.E.I., Vancouver island or one of the many more we have in our great country.

I'm assuming that you mean that the body and interior are survivor, because the 360 was not used in an a-body in 68.

Yes I know that I was just maybe a bit excited to finally start showing the car off and was not clear with my post.

What is with that front suspension on the back of the trailer...oh I bet that is your future disc brake set up. You might have to change the master cylinder and proportioning valve too.

What do you have for a rear end now?, if it is the 8.25, they can take more abuse than you think but not as much as the 8 3/4.(700-800 HP range)
8.25's are usually good for the 375 to 410 HP range and maybe a little more with a posi. Myself I run an 8.25...they are much more affordable and I am looking for an 8.25 posi or locker...on the cheap side.
Is your 360 stock or a little warmed over?

The only problem with that is the darn budget, unless it is no problem in your case but 360's are a lot cheaper to build than the famous 340.

Hopefully, we can eventually build this site to a decent size, so us Canadians have a place to find parts and advice with the installation process. We do have a few knowlegable folks here as well.

I completely agree and hopefully as more guys like me get back into the hobby that we have been away from for so long we give the knowledge back that we learn. I have been on the outside for 40 years always lusting but never making the move until now. Its a full blown affair now! I am an upholster so anything I can help with I am happy to do whether its supplies or advice just ask.I am a member of hunting sites rv sites and cart sites mostly Canadian and most of them small when they started but with good moderators they grow and all of the sites are doing well now and I hope this one does the same.

Ragtacker, I can see why you were so excited to show your car off, it really is a nice car. I to was away from the hobby for many years, but have been back in it for about 10 years now. I am a licensed Class "A" interprovincial mechanic since 1971, however I've been away from the trade since 1989, when I sold my 2 service stations, as well as my name and phone number and the right to open an automotive business for 5 years. I am now semi retired. I have done just about everything to these old cars, but have forgotten a lot of stuff, but am willing to help with advice anytime that I'm able to.
And I believe we Canadians not only need but deserve our own site.
