How to post an image!
HOW TO HOST AN IMAGE USING OUR FORUM:
Click the Picture Hosting Image.
This brings up this small window. First make sure that it doesn't auto resize your pictures. Use the drop down menu and select no.
Now click Browse. This will open a window to your computer to find the picture you want to host.
Find the picture you want on your computer. Either double click it or click it once then press Open.
You should see the pictures name beside the browse button. Double check the picture has no beside the resize and click "Host"
Now it comes up with this window. These are links to your pictures. The one you want is the button one.
HOW TO POST A PICTURE ON OUR FORUM:
Click the bottom link once to Highlight it. Now either Press "CTRL" and the "C" key or right click on the highlight link with your mouse and press "Copy".
Now you're going to want to press the post picture button.
That opens a small window that looks like this.
Click once on the part under where it says "Url". Now either press the "CTRL" and the "V" key or right click with your mouse and press paste.
Now you should have the link to your image under the "URL" so just click Insert.
In your message you should have something that looks like this. It's the link to your image with " />

Re: How to post an image!
Sorry, might just be me, but I don't like it. As soon as I tried I got an email saying "Your account has been created". I don't want to have another account somewhere just to post a pic. I prefer loading from my computer.....rant / whining over.

Ive never seen that before. The pictures are hosted here using your account on the forum. There is no other accounts.
Re: How to post an image!
That's what I thought was going to happen, when I hit the button. It didn't finish as the net here is very slow but this is the email I got from www.servinmg.com??

Re: How to post an image!
Ok I've totally revamped the tutorial for hosting and posting pictures on this website.
Re: How to post an image!
Cool, I'll try it again tonight. But I still got the email. Don't know why. Is this "servimg" like photobucket or something? It's not the tutorial that screwed me up, I worked through that part no problem.

I looked into it and yes, technically it's like photobucket. It's the internal image hosting for these forums. You never have to sign up or sign into their webiste, ever. Unless you want to of course to sort through the pictures you've uploaded.

Ok, good to know.

Re: How to post an image!
Now some people might be having a difficult time using our built in hosting. You can also host pictures on other websites such as Imgur (which I use) for example. You must create a free account with Imgur though.
This is not a vbulletin board where the hosting is off our server. Servimg is a third party company like Imgur. It is just built into our message board.
I did not make it like this, it's all part of the free message board I had to use due to cost restraints.

not easy
I tried a number of times before I got it right "once". Then I tried it again and I goofed something, it is not a user friendly way of doing this but we have to suffer through it.crankycrow wrote:I am trying to post a picture from my computer....I choose a photo(it's already the correct size) choose NO to resize then click host photo, then click upload and nothing happens....more help please.

Re: How to post an image!
You guys don't have to use the forum hosting. You can just use Imgur or Photobucket?
Posting an image
Thank's Kyle

Re: How to post an image!
It is painful. I can only do one at a time then I have to edit my post to do another. My net is slow, but I'm not sure that is the only issue with Imgserv. I'll likely start a photobucket or something similar. Not user friendly.

Re: How to post an image!
I guess it must just be me, but I can't get this thing to work for me. I guess I'll never post a picture here. It's just to difficult, if your not computer smart. And I'm not computer smart at all. I also got the same message.

Re: How to post an image!
I give up. I did the browse and pick an image. However the second window never opens, so I can't copy and paste the url. If new members join and have this much of a problem, I can see them moving on. Just my opinion. I don't have a Photobucket or Imgur account, never had a use for any off site accounts.

It's the built in hosting option or an off site hosting option. There is no options besides paying $250 to buy a vBulletin licence.
