painting intake
I had my dirty intake sandblasted a while back and now I am finally ready to paint it. I know I should plug up all the holes but should I use cloth or just paper or something else? I have the rest under control as far as I know.

Jean-Guy, doesn't really matter what you use, just as long as the holes are plugged while painting the intake. You should tape off where the Carb bolts down.

Wow, your more patient than I am. I don't think I could wait to get it back together, just to hear it run.

Re: painting intake
If your a little leary, then you should wait for help. It's a pretty easy job. After you line up the gaskets, You just have to be careful that you put the intake on really straight, so they don't move on you. Make sure you put the gaskets in dry.

Re: painting intake
I heard it is better to use "right stuff" or some sort of sealer at the gasket joints, and I am afraid to get stuff crooked or unsealed.

I only use a small dab of sealer on the corners, but no where else.

Re: painting intake
Tomorrow after supper supposedly, then there will be all the plumbing and throttle and the rest of the stuff.
And then if I have any courage left it will be the turn to get rid of the faulty proportioning valve and replace it with something else that works.
