seat back lock Empty seat back lock

So the seat backs on the bucket seats that I just bought don't lock. One was locking when I brought them home, but now either one is working. Has anyone had the pleasure of fixing these before, if so where do I start ?

The lock should be located in the hinge of the seat. Most likely the spring that pushes the latch down to lock the seat broke, disconnected, or worn.
