The story I heard is why the Sunbeam Tiger became extinct. Chrysler bought the Roots Group including the Sunbeam...and I don't think they (chrysler) liked the idea of a ford engine and I'm not sure if they even tried to fit the 273 in there. scratch

I had a friend back in the 70s that had a Sunbeam Tiger, and it had a Ford 302 in it. It was a cool car but not all that fast and very hard to handle.

I remember seeing a few Tiger on road courses in the sixties. What I liked most was the combination of an English sport car body with the sound of a Ford V8..... TILL.... I saw and heard a Cobra in a rally.

What a pity they pull the plug! Nice 2 seater with a V8.
