AMD Bumpers

Anyone had any luck with these? I'm hearing the quality is questionable. I don't really want to spend 2500.00 to get my existing 71 bumpers re chromed.

$2500 is a bit much. Which place quoted you that much? Have you tried getting other quotes ?
I've also heard that the AMD. bumpers rust really quick. However I don't have any personal experience with their bumpers.

I was going to suggest Keystone bumpers, but I'm not sure if they do any A Body ones.

I had front and rear bumbers rechromed here in Calgary at Alberta Plating for the 71 Demon back in 2006 and no rust or peeling cost 735.00 with GST. Dam I'n sure anybody could charge you 2500. I'd shop around, just in case there screwing with you.

got quoted 1200, just my back bumper, no bumperettes.

Here in Ontario...It starts at about $800 per bumper and $100 each for a bumperette and goes up from there

I had mine done at Tri-City Plating in the U.S. They did a really nice job and the cost was right around $500 for the pair including the shipping. Might be worth looking into.

I had a good look at the AMD bumpers this past weekend, at the Indy swap meet.
All I can say is they look really nice! Smooth on both side, and thick gauge steel.
I did notice one that had some "yellowing" in the license plate opening (corners), and a some yellowing around the bumper bolt openings. The yellowing is an indication of thin plating.

Having said this, that was one out of a dozen or so I looked at.
For $350., I'd buy one in a heartbeat, I couldn't get mine chromed for that.
