New steering parts
I tried to purchase some new inner and outer tie rods with sleeves from a performance place near me (Mopac) but was so pricey just about $400 that I tried a Auto Parts source and decided to go for stock replacement parts. They said it couldn't be here for 3 weeks and around 195.00 so I figured I could get it from Rock Auto, Turns out they have all the upgrade parts with 11/16 tie rods and matching sleeves for Can $168 with shipping. It is made by Proforged and I couldn't find any real complaints on there stuff except that the odd person had the threads bind while adjusting them for alignment. I did notice on the instructions it says to use some anti seize on threads.
What do you guys think of this brand and has anyone tried it?

Look pretty darn good. That guy with a seizing problem probably forgot to use anti-seize...stupid move.

Re: New steering parts
Nice but parts from the states suck big time with their crazy charges.
I ordered window parts from Classic Industries and the charges are whacko...their government must make a killing on us.

Yea the nice thing about Rock Auto is the price includes gst shipping and all fees. When you pay the price on the site there are no more surprises. However after saying that if the order somewhere is shipped by UPS I have heard some guys say they have received an extra charge, but I guess I've been lucky so far!

Re: New steering parts
Keith this is the same brand of parts that just suspension sells and I also wanted to upgrade to the 11/16 parts and if I was to order it from just suspension it was 250 US dollars with delivery so about 330 Canadian so I searched it and found this post so I’m going to order from rock auto to save some money as these parts are for a 66 valiant.
Thanks Dan.
Thanks Dan.

Re: New steering parts
Dan you should be about half of that $330 if you use the discount code I have going on another page. I have all the steering gear mocked up except no column in yet, as I'm waiting for the bearing to come in for the steering shaft.
I wasn't sure of that brand I ordered so I'm glad to hear that Just Suspension sells it.

Re: New steering parts
Keith, what are you using for your lower column bearing? Stock plastic part or?
Cheaper, better and available at any bearing shop.

Re: New steering parts
Thanks Phil, I'm going to switch it up and get one of those bearings. It looks a lot better than the flimsy stock rubber bearing.

Re: New steering parts
Thanks for the pics Phil. That looks like a great fit, defiantly better than the old rubber bearing that the car came with.
