SU carbs on a Slant Six

Can have this for free. A friend can fabricate an aluminium intake for these twin carbs.

the carbs are: SU Carburetor, Birmingham, England

One is: AUC990F............the other is: AUC990R    (for front and rear I presume!)

My question is: are these carbs OK for a stock slant six (now feed by a 1bbl carb)

Man, I do love SU carbs...soooooo simple ..and rugged.. and easy to set up.

However, for what you want, I would say no...I am not sure you could get enough gas flow even though I have seen SUs on large engines but not these particular ones..

These are for @ a 1000 cc engine... the /6 is much larger. I may be wrong since I haven't played with a TBC for a long time...and I am rusty.

Yea I agree with grassy, I think they would be to small, although I think those carbs are on a 1275cc engine (mini cooper).

Nope...they are bigger...these are for an Austin Healey Sprite MG Midget...which is a 948 cc engine but with a change in needles, you could run it on a 1275cc.

A slanty is still a lot larger...

Good job grassy, I forgot about those. I had a 1275 mini when I was a kid and it looked similar, but you are right, carbs will be a bit small either way.
