After Market Tank

Post by smoken340 on Sat Mar 26, 2016 12:42 pm

Has anyone ever used the aftermarket fuel tank that Nigel, at National Moparts, sells ? If so how good is the fitment of these.

Find out the brand. If it's a Spectra tank you'll have no problems.

I was able to order a Spectra tank from NAPA. I did it through the Ford dealer, that I work part time for. They are bringing it in and giving it to me at their cost. I'll have the tank by tomorrow morning.

I've actually received the tank, the next day. So I already have it. I'll post a picture sometime this weekend.

I was actually going to ask everyone here, what I should put on it or just leave it unfinished.

I was just throwing a number out there, only because I didn't have National's prices in front of me. I knew it was over $300, but for some reason I thought I remembered reading $329. So not a great memory either lol.

I put epoxy primer and epoxy black paint on my own and I know of a few with por 15 that turned out real nice . just be sure to mask off the sending unit hole good before paint . but I would something on it even rattle can plastic coat is good stuff .

Quanta does make awesome tanks, also plus is they are made in Canada...

When I purchased my tank I also bought the sending unit from them and upgraded to the 3/8's fuel line and just in case I went fuel injection it also came with a 1/4 return line built in.
