Not a fan of courier companies...

Post by grassy on Thu Oct 15, 2015 9:13 am

Went to order from Performance Improvements and found out they will not ship to a PO box in Nova Scotia...and the address on my card has to match my address. My address on my card is a PO box.... I figure they are linked into a courier company...and as we learned on FABO, there is a big kick back to the company...

Any like companies around that ship via CanPost ?

Thanks
Ian.

Have you tried talking to them and asking if there's any way they can use USPS? Undoubtedly you talked to them but I found a few times that if I explained the situation and the hassles of shipping cross border etc etc the compnay will find a way, if they want your buisness. We have an outfit here in Victoria , called express air , that's great - they have an office in Blaine Wa and many of us have stuff shipped there, then they bring it up here to the airport, you get the paperwork and walk it through customs 1/2 block away, then pay them a very reasonable fee for bringing it up and you're gone. I use them if the company I'm dealing with won't ship USPS to my house.

Normally I do it...no usps , no purchase....unless i *really* need it.  Not an issue.

But the rant is about Performance Improvements, all their stores are in Ontario. I expect this cross border but not in Canada.

I went someplace else ..and incidentally, the product was less expensive even before shipping.   And now, they are off my "shop" list. Stores should consider how policy changes will effect their business.

That's the US for you, they serve mainly American customers with dignity and don't give a hoot about the rest. It's as if they think that they are the only ones on the planet but they are not. There is likely one or two good guys out there but they are hard to find.
UPS is about the worst to use if you are going cross border, USPS is about your cheapest way around this problem or pick it up yourself but you are kind of far for that unless you plan on going to the states for a few days. If this ever happens, give me a call and I'll explain what to do.

I live about 3 blocks from performance improvements, so if you need something and I can help you out with shipping it. Just let me know.
