Edelbrock Air Gap on a 340 Empty Edelbrock Air Gap on a 340

Hey Folks!  I've got an Edelbrock Air Gap intake I want to put on the 340 in my '69 Swinger. Anyone know of or had any problems with them, mostly as far as clearance goes with the hood? I can't see there being a problem but thought I'd ask around. Apparently they're a good street manifold and with the raised runners the carb and gas stay cooler. Waddythink !?    Thanks!    Larry

If you have an Edelbrock and not the cheap Chinese copy that has been circulating for a while, then you should be all right. I have been running an Air Gap since my car was rebuilt and never had a problem. It is a great performance manifold and if you have a carb with an electric choke that would be even better. According to me that's a very good choice.

LOL, so typical, eh!....they can't actually "build" anything "quality" but they can sure as hell copy everyone else! Grrr! My main concern was hood / stock air cleaner top clearance but I don't think that's a problem - from what I can see there's only about 1/2" diference in overall height. Thanks!

The overall height is a little different (taller) but nothing that should require surgery. I had a Holley carb and had lots of clearance and now run an Edelbrock, which is a little taller, with the Edelbrock(taller) the air cleaner nut would be hitting the hood but I have a scoop with hole in the hood, so that makes room for the nut and the air cleaner itself is about 1/2" lower. Seems to me I had like 1" clearance with the Holley and 1/2" with the Eddie. I do not think clearance is an issue. The 69 swinger hood and the 76 Dart Sport hood are not very different.
